Students who have been absent for 5 calendar years or longer may reenter Winthrop and have previous coursework not count in their GPA.
All courses previously taken at Winthrop University are treated as if they were transfer credit from another institution for purposes of granting credit toward graduation. As with transfer credit, these earlier courses are not used in computing the student’s grade-point average. However, all earlier courses and the grades earned remain on the student’s official transcript and are counted in computing eligibility for academic honors.
Students complete an Academic Forgiveness form in the Office of Records and Registration by the end of the first week of the second semester for which he or she has been readmitted.
